About
I'm Ben Wen. I live in San Francisco with my wife and two kids.
I was about seven when my father, a mechanical engineer, brought home a Tandy Radio Shack TRS-80 Model I. I learned BASIC on it and wrote an arithmetic drill program that same year. The nerd was strong in that one. In my teens I found artificial intelligence and tried to talk my parents into buying Golden Common Lisp for the IBM PC we had upgraded to. The several-thousand-dollar price tag was more than my mother was willing to invest.
I studied EECS at MIT and took a lot of Cognitive Science along the way. This blog is where the two halves keep arguing with each other.
The name comes from a mishearing. You can read how that happened.
